COME DISCOVER ISAIAH 61 

Our ministry at Isaiah 61 Life Intl is dedicated to serving God by partnering with Him in helping as many as possible to experience wonderful freedom and transformational encounters with God through prayer. We apply God's many ministry "keys" as expressed in Isaiah 61 and other scriptures; we train up others to use these keys in their own lives and ministries to help others. 

 

So why is Isaiah 61 so important in the bible?  Isaiah 61 proclaims the "greatest commission" ever: God (Adonai) sending/commissioning the Messiah ("Mashiach" in Hebrew, "Christos" in Greek), by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, to accomplish God's loving plans and reveal His glory.  This sending/commission expands with poetic clarity to a long list specific works of the Messiah; these are invitational, personal and corporate, prayerfully interactive and dependent on God, for us to be restored-transformed by Him, for God's glory and goodness toward mankind (see also Isaiah 42:1-9). 

This scripture is a basis for the name "Messiah" or "Christ"

 

Of course, it begins with the Good News ("Gospel" in Greek) v1, but continues with additional keys that are essential for restoration God desires for us.  This scripture declares God's restorative plan for mankind, through Messiah, by the Holy Spirit; that results in greater wholeness, restored identity and self-worth, righteousness and profound inner transformation, and abundant life! "so to become as a cedar tree of righteousness, planted by the Lord for His glory" (v3).  The outflow of that goodness as we receive it; leads to restoration for our family, our generations, those around us, our cities, for Israel, for all the nations, and ultimately a world wide blessing for all to receive (v4-11).  God's plan is amazing!

 

Christ's first public announcement at the start of His ministry is His reading/declaring Isaiah 61 v1-2 about Himself in the temple of His home town of Nazareth (Luke 4:18-20).  Also very significant is Christ's last prayer in the upper room before the cross "And Father, as you sent Me, so I am sending them"  (John 17:18).  Christ's first declaration on Resurrection Day evening, when He first appeared to the disciples: "As My Father sent Me, so I am sending you; and He breathed on them and said "receive the Holy Spirit" (John 20:21-23).  

 

Our Vision and Purpose

This plan and purpose of God in the Bible is foundational to our ministry in Isaiah 61 Life Intl. We believe that this is worthy of greater understanding, delving deeply into, laying hold of every opportunity to receive all of it experientially with God, and to pass this on to others. Clearly, this is God's great love and purposes for all who wish to receive; and to bless all the earth and bring forth justice and goodness, righteousness and praise! 

 

We believe there is so much more to experience with God, beyond a salvation story we simply hear about. Christ is wonderfully at work now, by the Holy Spirit, fulfilling this commission; and each of us are meant to fully experience all of His restorative goodness and have deep relationship with God in our lives as a result!  This is the "Greatest Commission", and we are dedicated to help as many as possible to receive and pass forward every facet of God's working through it.

During our ministry sessions, we prayerfully help people find true Identity based on the "Good News" that is proclaimed by God (v1). We help many find true healing from the "broken places of their heart" through prayerful encounters with God who lovingly heals (v2). We help people find true freedom from spiritual and emotional "captivity/imprisonment" by using a peaceful prayer approach and the power of the Holy Spirit based on God's Word, the Bible (v2).  We help people find Jubilee.. "the year of the Lord's favor" with God's pardon for sin/debts and restoration of godly inheritances in their lives.

 

Most people who receive this ministry find true joy that replaces "a spirit of heaviness" and restored "beauty for ashes" with profound blessings for themselves and their families (v3). We especially endeavor to train others to receive and do these same ministries and pass it on (John 17:18 and 20:21-23).  We agree with God's plan and Messiah's commission to reach all the nations with God's restorative goodness, righteousness and praise (v11). We hope many more will grasp this vision as well.
